I own a 78 240D and its been my baby for many years. I cant bring myself to sell it, its been perfect for 260k miles. I love this car.
I lost oil pressure and when I tried to start it the timing chain cover cracked with a small hole in the top. I stopped there and had it towed home. Just before it stopped I heard what sounded like valves making noise so Im not sure what to do about it.
Sense I like the car and most likely need a motor, what suggestions would give me more power if I was going to replace without changing a lot of things. Its a four speed transmission w/ac. The car is stock and has always been a snail but very reliable. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug
