Hi - new to the forum
just doing up a 1980 280sl auto - bit bewildered by the fuel injection system as i've never had an old car with injection - always either a lot newer or carbs.
the car runs really well except for a few things which i think are related
1) occasionally when the car stops when hot (operating temp oposed to over heated) it wont start without a dab of accelerator
2) when hot, putting the car is put into reverse to do a 3 point turn etc it causes it to stall through low revs
basically when the autobox takes the load the idle drops causing a stall - the car will however start up again no problem
i'm assuming its to do with idle speed which needs lifting a tad? How do i go about doing this? and whats the upper limit
or is it a idle control valve?
and more importantly where are they located!
advice whould be greatfully recieved.
Many thanks
Marc
