I am thinking of selling my old girl. I have just put a new MOT on her today. She is very solid beneath, but rear arches need a little work - not serious, the metal is still good, just a little flaky rust. She is a 3 owner car with 130,000 miles. Runs very well, autobox was replaced 4 years ago at Mercedes with genuine replacement. Only covered 1000 miles since. My question is, what should I ask for her?? I was thinking £1500 as is. I am not sure whether to get the paint done or not. Some people are put off by fresh paint.

a really good one will fetch 5/6k ?-- Ours went on Ebay for 4.5k--'82 with 81k on clock-2 years ago-6 months later it appeared at a well known local dealers for £6,500?
-£1500 seems a very fair price as it stands.

I have just bought a 1983 280ce with 174k miles 3 owners but passenger front wing will need replacing and rear arches were not as good as yours, I paid 1500 but got a 1000 px on my old seat so I would suggest more like 2000 if you have all paperwork.

Looks a very nice car. Pity you're so far away from me because otherwise I would be tempted to make an offer around the figures £1.5 to £2 k. How bad is the rust really ? It doesn't show up at all on the pictures.

This brings back some good memory's The 280CE was my very first Merc, albeit dark blue, and a real head-turner it was and the same year as yours.

The price seems very fair if not a tad below what it might realise. As always it will be down to being in the right place at the right time as 'they say'

It is still available. I put a new MOT on it - 11 months left. Very sound underneath, engine and box also very sound. Could do with it out the way... £1500 would secure.
