1991 230te starting

Hope someone can help I have a 230te estate 1991 that I have just bought and the following problem started more or less straight away , I started it and let it idle and after 2-3 minutes it stalled and would not start until I left it for 10 minutes it then drove perfect for 15-20 miles until I stopped for petrol and would not start (very embarassing ) again left it for 10min and it started immediately and then ran perfect all the way home 70mls . hope someone can point me in the right direction , Thanks

A quick guess, ignition module or EZL on the inner wing.

It could be the crankshaft sensor, and they fail in this way, they measure 1k ohms when good and 100k when bad

change the spark plugs!!! i had the same problem for two years,changed plugs runs great.get the gapright

230TE 1990 Starts n Runs (Just dont stop for fuel!)

230TE 1990 . Hot/Warm engine starting problem. If you give her a sniff of easy start...She will run. It tries to start but only splutters. Once running from hot its smooth and seems normal.

Please help as my sanity is at stake!
