1992 W124 new owner

Hi, bought my 230e in March this year...just before lock-down!!! However, now lock-down has eased somewhat, we are out & about & really enjoying the car. It is in VG condition, 83k on the clock when purchased so, very pleased.

I don't know if anybody can help me but, I'm looking to replace the centre console - quite bad condition. Probably been moved in the past & the veneer has cracked.

It is in Zebrano wood, electric windows front & rear, but no heated seats. The ashtray is in VG condition so, only the centre console please.

W124 are great cars, superly over engineered.

Your only place is ebay or a breakers. I changed the same on my w124 years ago. Be patient, the colour and wood combo will be rare and more rare now given the age.

Very easy to replace need to get att the screws in the bottom of the console under the sliding door.

Hi mioba, thanks for your message...tried Ebay & car & classic, no joy so far; happy to wait tho', lovely car in great condition! Just thinking, yours must have been posh (!), mine only has a bit of carpet & no sliding door storage, lol.

You are going to be very lucky to find one, do what i did, send it to gdk veenering and get it fixed by professionals.

Hi LostKiwi, thanks for the link, unfortunately, the console is in similar cracked condition to mine. I think I'll keep trying for another month or two & then look at getting it re-veneered...maybe, dependant on cost.

Peter p welcome to the forum . The Zebrano wood trims do crack over time .So ask the seller what the condition is like , and tell him you dont need cracks you have some he can have ha ha . May be a hard job to find without cracking in them but you can get them .Check this guy Rob at > threepointedparts@hotmail.co.uk
