Yes, I know it's a strange title, and I'm not sure quite which forum to put it in... I'll try here.
Anyway, I get terrible cramp in my right leg from driving my TE220 any distance over about 30 miles. I've tried all combinations of seat positions but to no avail - it just feels as though I'm stretching too far all the time. I noticed that the pedal is a lot lower than the brake pedal.

I didn't have this problem with my last W124 (1989 model), otherwise I wouldn't have bought another.

Is there anything I can do about this? Everything else about the car is great, but if I can't solve this I'll have to sell it; I have an old injury in this leg and can't afford to aggravate it.

I find that if I don't take my wallet out of my back pocket I get leg ache on long journeys (not that its fat or anything... just full of receipts  )

Could be the accelerator pedal is a lot stiffer on the newer car. I drove a number of C124s before I bought my 91 300CE. The accelerator pedal on mine is really smooth and light compared with newer E320 Coupes I tried.

I reckon the front lip of the seat is restricting the blood supply to your leg.

I've had similar symptoms before - try tilting the seat base forward?

No, it's nothing to do with blood supply - my foot is at an awkward angle to the pedal. My toe is pushed forward - and I notice the pedal surface is at about 15 degrees horizontally to the position of my foot. The brake pedal is about 2" higher, so I have to lift my foot significantly to brake. I get muscle fatigue from knee to ankle.

Incidentally there is no tilt on this seat. Height adjustment by a forward-back slider, separate to the main positioning, and adjustable front edge height. But I've tried it in all sorts of positions, and none of them help.

I realise I'm stating the obvious, but why not adjust the pedals to where you want them?

The accelerator pedal may be bent out of shape and/or the cable & linkage need adjusting

220s can be a bit snappy at low revs as the pedal seems stiff initially. I think it may be a characteristic of the car but would recommend a replacement cable as a good first step

Reviving an ooooold discussion but got a leg cramp while driving yesterday. The latest of many... I mainly drive in the city. Is this something I have to get used to with W202s?

Interesting revival tho.

Im brand new (circa 12 months) to MB and have an old W202. Id never known a sore glutimus maximus muscle issue whilst driving before in other cars. It appears the seats and positions are not the most ergonomic. I have gotten used to it now but for a while I was considering a change.

Had this problem too ...

Is there anything I can do about this?

I had this problem with a 500SEL - was forced to get out every 25 Kms or so to stretch the legs. Didn't happen in our Renault 5 though.

Never found out why but the problem went away completely when I started cycling 30 Kms a day (and it's very hilly around here!!).

Good luck.
