1994-5 e320. any good?

i`m getting a mondeo company car (i`ve got a focus on hire just now- yuk) and i find them pretty crappy cars, i was thinking about just parking the mondeo up at the office every night to avoid company car tax completely (i`m a field service engineer so i need a company car for work, but they wont give a car allowance)and getting myself an e32o for about £1500 - £2000, are they reliable enough? what goes wrong? what are the strong points and weak points? i`ve had mostly bmws and audis for the last while, but my girlfriend has an a140, and i`m sick of bmws falling to bits. i`ve had e36 318s, an early 735i, and e32 730/735is, how does the merc compare to an e32 735i? are the electrical toys as tempermental as bmw stuff?

E320's are nice, with the 6-cyl M104 engine. Watch out for head gasket failiure (oil in coolant) and wire harness problems (the insulation tends to fall aprt with age).
