If it's a RHD UK car you'll need a turbo and injection pump, turbo inlet manifold & vacuum system and you'll have to fabricate an exhaust manifold & heat shielding to suit

The Turbo 606 is very different to the n/a version and even with the parts listed above you won't have a complete setup

I don't think this conversion is economically viable

out of interest dont turboed engines have oil jets to the back of the pistons? along with different rings ,valve guide seals etc

or is that only in the more modern compact intercooled units?

I think the piston design is different on the turbo 606 and would suspect that all the items you list will be different

Make sure the carpet mat isn't trapped under the accelerator pedal and make sure that you are getting full throttle with the pedal on the floor

Then just rev the nuts off it. They like it!

Does the car shake when you start & stop the engine? I suspect the engine mounts are cream-crackered

The loss of performance at higher mileages with a 606 engine is caused by loss of compression. This is normally on cylinders #5 & #6 due to valve seat recession. The cure is a top-end rebuild. Budget about £1200

It only happen when the engine is on, and the car is stopped. most of time it happen when I just step on the break on gear D. but sometime even on gear P it will also happen~
I had change the engine mounts before~ but it is still the same~

do I need to rebuild the whole engine? or can I just change the cylinders #5 & #6 ?
I am not very familiar will this~~

Thank you very much~~

Could it be the tensioner on the belts causing the rattling? can be a common problem.

Re the compression; a garage will be able to test this, but you can be pretty sure a fair bit will be lost. No #6 cylinder on your car though, yours is an inline 5 being the 250. Remember, it was never a very torquey engine for such a heavy car, so even with top end rebuild it will still be slow.

That's a fair point. I wonder whether the 605 suffers the same problem in the same back two cylinders as the 606? Or is it completely different?

I ran the old 250TD for 12 years. Great engine, revved well, very smooth - and a five pot!

The new E250 Diesel is a four-pot...

The one that I had was quite flat so I would assume so.

Hi I had my old E250D 124 Turbo Charged by TB Turbos of Lancs way back in 1996 when the car was a year old it really helped it and it ran far smoother once turboed. unfortunately it cost me the best part of £3000 and the centre prop bearings failed not long after. But it was still worth it at the time.;)
