I bought my SL in August and love it but people keep asking me what is the difference between it and the normal model, Apart from cosmetics was anything different from the Mille Miglia special edition over the normal model?

Ian, I just looked at your attached pic of your SL and it is a good-looking car regardless of whether it is a limited edition model!

Aren't 'Special Editions' the ones they introduce just before a facelift or model change to boost interest in the current version?

Still a very nice car though! :)

Ian,

Not sure where you are based in Wiltshire, so probably not you, but a Mille Miglia SL500 came past me this morning on the M4, heading west between Bath and the M32 at abouyt 8.30.

Looked good, even in today's gloom.

Do you mean to tell me that you would take that out in the rain

Well, it does have windscreen, sorry windshield wipers - but I agree it might be difficult to find rain in Orlando - at least between hurricanes!

But these are robust cars Malcolm - and ought not to rust.

Sadly the last of them were the only ones to rust in the front wing area

Well, that's progress. The benefits of a "run out model", I guess?

I did not get any rust with mine. To whom should I complain?

The other odd thing is that the wheels were impossible to balance,,you had it done and a few weeks down the line they were out again

The interior was spectacular though,,all of the outer trim that is black on the 129 is chrome
