You may find it more economical to research this on the internet there are several companies that refurbish the Eaton 45 superchargers at a much more cost effective rate than buying from Mercedes. Do a search under Eaton superchargers you'll be amazed how many links come up
Dan from what I've found on my research there are two types of clutch but both superchargers are Eaton 45s. I am at present trying to source some oil for my Supercharger, Mercedes want around 60 Euros for 4 ounces but I think I can get some for much less from General Motors should know on Monday.
You will probably have to check against your VIN No to make sure you get the right type I would check with a dealer the two types may or may not interchange. I'm sorry I can't be more help at the moment. Cheers Brian
i just wanted to save a few quid...as the wanted £500 to replace the clutch and belts... and i thought on ebay there were come whole units for about £190 - 250. But there are 100's of different eaton 45's.. some for golf, G60's, minis, jags, mustangs... all eaton 45 units ! there are 2 for merc (one for the SLK230k and one for the CLK230K) but nothing stateing which is for the C230K seeing as both those cars are later cars, and i need a early one as mine is from 96... So i think i'll stop being stingy and let them get on with it.
The part number shown on the above link for "coupling", A1110970128, tallies with the clutch fitted to my 1999 CLK 230K and that is a magnetic one.
Hope this helps.
How on earth did it shear off? Sounds as though there is something seriously wrong with the kompressor, like, it is seized!!!!
