So my van over heated on a journey a few months back and went into limp node the rest if the way home. Couple days later I noticed a leak coming from under my van. It starts and drives fine atm but don't drive it just incase. Coolant light cane on so maybe coolant hose. I'm hoping it's something simple.

Hello and welcome,

Have you checked the coolant level?
Has it lost any?

Yes but I wasn't sure if it was coolant or oil. I'm guessing coolant now just have to get it up on someone's ramps to have a look

Coolant is obvious, there'll be a tank to one side of the engine with a hand sized cap on top.
If there's coolant in there with oil in it then likely a head gasket has blown.
If the tank is empty then, let's hope that you've not done any irreparable/expensive damage, by driving it after the initial overheating issue.
Assuming that no freezing temperatures are forecast then at this stage if the tank is empty nothing to lose with putting plain water in the tank to take it to the garage. If it leaks straight out then you've got a failed hose which should be replaced before its driven again.

Yea once this happend I drove it home about 2 miles and that's where its stayed for a few months. Hopefully its just a hose then and not the head gasket and haven't done any damage. Cheers butty
