Hello Everyone.
My little E300 TD (110k Miles) has recently started to die soon after start up. She starts, as always, first hit but after a short time dies particularly if left at tickover (while scraping off ice off example) and is reluctant to restart. Its almost like it floods or maybe is short of air, although I've experienced the issue after its been running for maybe 5 or 10 minutes when it should be warm enough to go on with it.

Any guidance would be welcomed. Des

Hi Des and welcome to the nut house

Does the car run at all when its warm,if it does not then it should be the crankshaft sensor £47 from a Bosch service center

Hello & thanks.
She runs as sweet as a nut once warm. If she does die then I leave her for 10 minutes and try to refire her. She is very reluctant to fire but if I keep her on the starter motor for maybe a minute with moderate throttle she will eventually fire. After that its as though nothing had ever hapenned and she goes as well as she ever did.

Thanks for your guidance. Des

sounds like you have the classic air leak issues if the car dies straight after starting when the car has been standing for a while.

Try parking nose-down and see if it helps. if it does you have an air leak.
