2001 CL500
Hello,

I have recently bought a 2001 CL500 in good condition. None of the fans are working at all. The vendor told me that the heater blower resistor needed replacing and that he had ordered the part and would send it on to me but I doubt that is going to happen.

I am having some trouble identifying the correct part and how to fit it. From what I can see, it looks like the part was radically changed by Mercedes between years 1999 and 2000 but I am not 100% sure.

If anybody can at least help me to identify the part number that I need, I would really appreciate it. The VIN is WDB2153752A022239.

Is this a part that you would consider buying second-hand from a breaker's?

Many thanks,
Kevin

2005 CL500.
If it's a part that doesn't generally become faulty then buying from a breaker is a good idea.

I've changed afew, it's on the front passenger side footwell behind the glove box. An s class one will also fit. Best thing to do is remove it to get the part number on yours.

Many thanks. I have now got the part number from the WIS. It is amazing, although not surprising, how the price appears to triple for a very similar part just because it is a CL. I had a similar experience when I replaced the distributor cap on my 300TE. Europarts erroneously ordered a cap for a V12 (one side - 6 cylinders), which looked almost identical to mine and cost me more than 60 pounds. When I took it back and exchanged it for the correct part, I got 35 quid back.
