Sprinter/2005/2.7 Diesel
Hi any suggestions?

Helping a very good friend has a 2005 Freightliner Sprinter 2.7 Diesel 199,000 miles and it goes into what seems to be a Limp Mode when driven hard.
I plug in my OBD2 reader and it shows NO Trouble Codes?!
What's going on, what to do next?

Thanks

Thanks for the input!
Well this what I have now:

I took the Sprinter to Auto Zone and used their free OBD2 reader and it showed No Codes as well.
I asked if they have problems reading Mercedes or Dodge and they said No.
Also the Check engine symbol light Only comes on briefly with the ignition key turned to show the bulb works.
They said since the engine light isn't on, it shouldn't have any codes.

This Sprinter of my friend's actually has 294,000 miles on it.

The digital odometer dash area DOES show "600" with a wrench symbol above it. I don't know if this is an oil change needed or emissions component needs servicing or...

I suppose the check engine light only comes on for "hard" codes..?
I bought the transmission dip stick tool and checked the level is right and fairly clean.

Also I couldn't get the van to go into the limp mode like my friend said it does whenever he drives it hard.
I drove it up and down on a 55mph road and also up and down on the 65mph highway for probably seven miles, flooring it and driving it hard.
The transmission shifted perfectly under all conditions.
My friend had taken it to a mechanic to look at, who said it needs a new transmission is the problem but that mechanic turned out to be untrustworthy so...

I'm going to try to find out what the 600 with wrench symbol means.
Well what do you suggest at this point?

Thank you

Hi have a clk 270 with I assume similar or same engine with same fault so far undiagnosed by 2 garages .it will go for weeks without a problem then no turbo and management light. Turn off ignition turbo back, light on for 3 more starts, Then starts all over again it's very frustrating. At one point had rail pressure code had it reset and that has not come back .if you give it pedal to metal it stalls then restarts as if nothing has happened .But still no code . Going to see if my local indy will connect it up and drive it rather than static test .

If there a no codes it's unlikely to be in actual limp home mode, engine being down on power and limp mode don't always go hand in hand.
