Hi, apologies if this has been asked before, I did a search but no "definitive" result from what I can muster...
I had the "Check oil when next re-fuelling" message crop up on my display yesterday. I've been onto the local Merc' dealer who says I need Castrol Edge Professional 0W40 which coincidentally they sell at £18.52 / ltr. I also called a local factor who put the reg' into a computer and it told him I needed 5W40, own brand but made by Fuchs at 5 ltr for £40.00. With a strong winter round the corner, I just want to know which one to go for. The car tells me I only need to top up with 2 litres by the way.
Thanks in advance for any advice...:)

Either will be fine. You just need to top it up with any oil meeting MB229.5 As long as it meets the spec the viscosity will be fine.

If you have costco membership you can get Mobil One Turbo Diesel for £28 for 5 litres.

THIS... is exactly the answer I was after. Thank you very much indeed for the quick reply, appreciate it. I'll probably just go down to the factor as the Costco is a bit of drive away. Was only there on Saturday too! Grrr. Thanks again.

If you have costco membership you can get Mobil One Turbo Diesel for £28 for 5 litres.

I was in on Saturday, now £30 for Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel although Mobil 1 New Life was only £25, both for 5 litres.
The tyre shop now has BF Goodrich & Bridgestone tyres as well as Michelin since I was last in.

Thanks - although still cheaper then ECP even with their "discount code" The Bosch batteries are better value @ ECP however.
