So the other day I was driving with gearbox in manual mode when it suddenly went into 6th gear I think and got stuck there , I couldn't change it with the paddles.. then after that it was changing gears by itself but there was hardly any power like in limp mode or something . The next day I went out and it was fine at first but then again it did the same thing , 3rd day same again .. at first it's fine and engine revs up to about 2k or more before changing gear but then after a while something happens and it changes gears at alot lower revs and there's no power .. help !!??

Edit : just had diagnostic done , have attached pic .

Limp mode - you need to get any codes read - is the EML on? Possibly a trip to a good indy, post your location so someone can recommend

Probably low trans fluid or the gearbox needs a service:

There seem to have been a dozen or more posts across forums in the past couple if months with exhaust/DPF pressure sensor issues on these w212s (I have one and had very similar errors and symptoms to the OP).

Could a sudden surge in these errors/symptoms all be due to an as yet unknown common issue? i.e. a change in fuel we are not aware of?

OP, if it is the DPF pressure sensor, it's about £65 for Merc genuine and an Indy would change it in under an hour. Get them to check codes and this might be a popular first try for resolution due to ease, time and low cost?

I had diagnostic done today ( pic attached ) I went and got some dpf cleaner , put it in the tank and went for a drive on motorway for about 25 miles .. cars been alright today but just as I was coming off the motorway it went into the limp mode again ..

What you mean nailed on? Also what about the other codes ?
Most likely will be dpf pressure sensor, the other codes are piggybacking the dpf pressure sensor fault.

I meant how can I know if the sensor is faulty or if the sensor is actually ok but the dpf actually does need cleaning ? Do you think the other control module fault is because of the dpf issue or it’s something separate ?
Get live data for the dpf sensor . It should be around + or - 0.4 .

Sort this issue the rest possibly will disappear.

Use the scanner that found the other faults .
That was at a mechanic who charged me £30 just to plug it in and get the codes for like 2 mins .. not sure if he even knows how to get live data for the sensor ..
