Flood damage, going to be hydro engine and all control modules + Gearbox. Enough for them to write it off at 50K+ :)

It's all numbers, they only write it off if the value to repair is more than its worth, and there is no bodywork damage.......

There is an estimate there. Its been written off so approx 80% of value they drew the line.
good luck and keep us posted

Copart are good at this game, if they haven’t decided to do it themselves they know there is little in it, their guide was £67k when re done but I would almost bet if you had to get a new engine in it that’s going to be over 20 then as Alex said lots of electrics

I'm thinking its got to be worth putting in an offer up to £35k?

Look at engine prices first. Gearbox can be rebuilt if water has got in. If the engine has hydro locked I wouldn't even consider trying to repair it.

Rough estimate I bet you’ll need another £25k to get it back on the road

It'll always be a cat N too, so worth less than a regular one. For the cost and grief I'd buy a good one. Probably cheaper in the end...

CAT N doesn't worry me at all, it's the type of car I would keep and drive daily.

As a project car, its a challenge for sure, come on guy's, with all your expertise, surely this one would be fun!

What do we think its worth, what should I consider bidding this up to?

This thread had me browsing on copart. they have a couple of nice amg cls. that seem fine (no accident).
do private people sell there too or is it only ins write offs assuming the cars i mention were maybe stolen recovered and the ins paid out.

Value of non cat probably 68ish, so 60-65k

Anyone can put their car or parts on copart for a fee

Copart buys the car off you for an agreed fee and then auctions it for itself.

Sometimes, though my mate takes some of his worn out problematic car and Copart sell on behave for him.
