My w124 timing chains are starting to rattle ('91, 230TE 5spd, 200k miles)especially when warm. Any easy way to fix or do they / tensioners need replacing?
Am thinking of getting a w116 280SE - does anyone have buying advice, and do they have 3 point rear belts (for child seat). Would appreiate any advice.
PS - any 280SE owners wanna swap?
Thanks in anticipation

Timing chain is probably overdue for a change. These can be changed relatively easily by replacing the chain with one with a 'rivetted' join -Making the job no harder than changing a cam belt.

Go to a MB indepenent specialist and get it sorted before it does the unthinkable.
