The car belongs to my partner who didnt start it for a number of months..
I tried to recharge the battery to no avail so I bought and fitted a new one.(As an artist this is about as far as my mechanical skills go)
Its now two weeks and I cant get this wonderful machine to start.
These are the stages that I have gone through
I connect the battey,
the tracker/alarm sounds loudly,
I press the key twice and the alarm goes off..
I point the key at the rear view mirror twice the hazards flash.
I insert the key count to 30 and turn, no lights come except for the hazards the red alarm led as well as an airbag, There is no sight of the usual dashboard lights,
I give the key the last turn the engine turns over lovely four times then nothing happens but but a little cough
if I repeat the whole thing the alarm goes off again..
I phoned Mercedez they wont come to visit because its been serviced elsewhere a couple of times. The local garage wont touch it because its an immobilizer and its specialist kit..
Can anyone tell me what my best course of action is?
Can I fix it with my very limited low tech know how, I'll do more harm than good Im sure?
Do I contact the immobiliser people
Do I get the car towed to the nearest dealer? If its a automatic with an engaged aimmobilizer is that possible?
Is their a good mobile mercedez mechanic or firm that anyone know about in the Manchester Lancashire area?
Help???
thanks in advance
