230TE slack in Throttle

Hi

I have a Mercedes 230TE 1991 (Bosch CIS-E) which has a slack throttle. The cable is adjusted so that the idle switch is just activated at idle by the guide lever but although the control pressure cable is pulled immediately by throttle action the actual trottle lever is only actuated when the pin through the guide lever hits the top part of the guide lever slot . I would be grateful for your comments

My 230TE 1989 is just the same. You tend to get used to it but it's a bit odd though.

Derm,

Two things to check,

1/ one of the throttle return springs mounted underneath the inlet manifold
has a tendency to break, giving a very light throttle feeling. (Butterfly return spring)

2/ the other return spring on the side of the linkage wears through the bracket and falls off.

Thankyou both for your comments. is this slack normal seems a bit odd to me.
I have found two return springs one on the side of the linkage parallel to cable and one at rear of linkage at right angles to the other both are pull type springs. Not sure what you mean by butterfly.
Any comments appreciated.
