What is the width of said tyre?

1 was a 255 , the other 235.

Might go for these in a 18 " size and 4 all season tyres.

The clue is 30 section tyres... without any sidewall the road impact is passed straight onto the wheel and suspension.

So tyres knackered, alloys cracked, springs broken, bushes worn out and an uncomfortable ride all for fashion...

40% of what? The original width or 40% of a wider tyre? If 40% of the original width, the rolling diameter will be bigger which will confuddle your speedo

Quite boring I know.but I stick to std sizes,I play with tread patterns a bit.thats it.keeps things simple.dont think I would be buying a car with 30,s as std. I want good odds on gettin to wear them out.not odds on a bun fight with a council legal dept.

another good thing is i now have 4 spare 19 inch wheels , i can slug 1 about in the boot in the event of a flat tyre.

Are low profile tyres unique to the UK? We don't have the worst roads in Europe.

30% profile on a 255 wide tyre is low though. 255 isn't particularly wide.
