300SL Auto gearbox

My 1992 300SL auto gearbox will not kick down,unless I floor the throttle then it drops down to 1st gear.
I can select with the gear stick but it is a bit tricky when you want to overtake as one hand has to go to the lever. Any ideas folks?

I would first check the adjustment on the kick-down bowden cable. I believe this car has the 722.3 box and to adjust the cable you will need to remove the air filter case. The cable should be at the very back of the engine connected the the throttle linkeage.

The fuel pump relay can go open circuit on on track on the PCB its easy to open up and test.
