Thankyou for replies about replacing broken front springs, a local garage did them with hydrolic press and threaded bar! But I think euro car parts have supplied wrong springs because it sits too high, at least it was back on the road. This morning I was in a rush and floored it from standstill, but just a bang, discovered broken ns driveshaft, recovered to local garage and hoping euro send right part! Just wondering if I may have damaged gearbox because remember reading if front prop coupling breaks can damage gearbox, does this aply to driveshaft? I dont remember revs going over 3k. AA driver said he'd never seen a broken driveshaft on a w124, If all is well I must be more gentle with the old girl! 18 years old & 192,000, shes worn well.
