311CDI Cutting out

Hi ,
My 2003 Mercedes Sprinter 311CDI keeps dying.
Usually when i set off and change from first to second or on an uphill, it just completely dies, i have to pull over and it restarts with the engine management light staying on untill i turn it off and on again.
I,ve had it in to a garage who said the computer was showing low fuel pressure, and they chenged the deisel fuel filter, but it isn,t cured.
Any ideas welcome.
