312d starting issues

Sprinter 312d won't start.
Been ok up till yesterday, 1/2 tank of fuel but won't start. I have undone the fuel line to the injectors but no fuel comes out when the engine is cranked over. The fuel filter has fuel in it.

Does the system have a pump in the tank?

Any help would be much appreciated.

no mate there isnt a pump in the tank, try and see if it is pumping fuel out of the fuel filter 1st,, have you changed the filter no?? it could be the fuel cut of selonoid on the pump what has stoped?? or have you a imobilizer fitted?? try and see if she will bump or tow etc to start up

Got it started

I changed the fuel filter and managed to prime the system after a few painful minutes of try to get fuel pumping through the injector lines it burst into life.

It has done this before for some reason, drove it today for 150 miles and was all ok.
