320CE exhast

I fitted my 320CE with a new exhast today, something do with an MOT.

I took a couple of pictures, like you do, and looking at them tonight I noticed something strange. A small section seemed to be red hot...anybody any idea what is going on?

All I can see is that the flange plate on the left hand one looks different to the one on the right. it may be the angle of the camara but it looks to be inside out.
the exhaust box acts as a heat sink. if there was insuficiant contact (larger area) it may get hot at that point. OK the CAT can reach tempertures of 600c but not down there, the flange is all I can come up with.

The flange plate is different on either side. The picture was taken while I fired up the car for the first time with the new exhast. This was at tick over.

I'll give it another try tomorrow, if I get the front spring on.

I think I've fixed it.

I do admire you for what you do on your car, I was like that once, and I love your sense of humour when I get it. It make me feel so stupid, just imagine all of that heat as shown on the first picture,its impossible, just shows how easy it is to be taken in, but the more post you answer, the more chance you have to fall, and to quote your words "who is going to pick you up" just about sums that up
