Is there a 3rd party upgrade to install a supercharger in a C280 Elegance 95-96 model? If so where would the best place online to source further info?

Never heard of one and if there is, it's likely to cost a lot more than the car's worth. (Merc didn't do Kompressors at that time, so you're looking at a complete after market kit). Especially by the time everything else has been uprated to match. Wouldn't it be cheaper and simpler to just chip it, or if you want a mad one, swap it for an AMG? A lot easier to get it insured too.

Thanks for reply.

Mercedes, (in fact most all other cars) are very expensive in Australia. eg a 95-96 C280 sell frequently for 30-33k AUD, converted to pounds this is between 12-13k GBP !!!

A Similarly spec'd C280 95-96 in the UK is around 3K Pounds !!!

AMG's in this country.....hrm VERY VERY rare and most likely 45K + AUD

Supercharger kits here are around 5k AUD or around 2k GBP. I simply do not know if there is a supercharger kit for a C280 .... Most likely not.

This chip u speak of, would u care to highlight a few details? eg performance gain, cost etc..perhaps even some links?

Regards

TURBO

MOSSELMANN TURBO SYSTEMS used to produce a twin turbo system for the C280. see http://www.mosselmanturbo.com/index2.htm under specifications. they quote 285 bhp and 405 NM torque.According to their map there is an agent in OZ in Melbourne maybe??

I see - given the price differential, the aftermarket kit would be more viable over there than it is here.
The chips simply remap the engine management system to give more power. As they are just chips, they tend to be a lot cheaper than a complete turbo rework, though I don't think you'd get the same results. Chips tend to give in the range of 20 bhp.
I found one in the web that gives another 12bhp to yours (and mine!) for £300 as an example
