Greetings All,

I've just bought my first 560 sec and have decided to spend all of my salary bonus on it (yes I love it that much *lol*). Apart from a full service I would be grateful for ideas on what to do. The car is in it's original format at the moment - no amg wheels yet! People have already suggested things like amg lowering springs, exhaust etc.

Thanks.

waxoil it - repalce the rear window seal, rust proof it. more rust proof. clean the inside of the wings. leather treatment to keep the leather supple. then a NOS kit to show up the twits in the scoobys... ;)

Depends on the condition of the rest of it. I've often though that instead of buying another 25-30k merc, I should get an older one and mint it. I still remember what a 1985 380SE felt like when it was new - glorious. I'd be going for that.
Just keep some back in case something goes south - SECs are great but could be painful if something serious gives up.

Tell me about it, a good rear window seal is a must as it can lead to serious rust problems. New alloys, not too modern will do wonders for the car as pic above.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I have some questions:-

What exactly is involved in rustproofing?

The body work on my sec isn't too bad, just a little "bubbling" around the boot catch. I'm not too keen on-respraying the car, what's the best way to bring some zest back to the body work?

What wheels are those in the picture above!!?

Thanks again.

Rust proofing mainly involves coating box sections and double skin panels with a coating of wax, all the places you cant see, stops condensation building up. You can buy a kit for the job.
There is a detailed description of what was done to the car in pic, dont know what site though, someone will let you know.
