hello all, im new to the forum and would greatly apreciate any ideas you have on whats wrong with my car,

basicly ive just bought a 1983 500 sec, the problem is i just drove it home and on arriving back i noticed there was a water leak, so i lifted the bonnet and found water coming from the radiator header tank overflow, when the engine gets hot the water level rises to the top and starts coming from the overflow, when you you rev the engine it seems to increase the pressure, i immediatly thought head gasket and was wondering if anyone a bit more in the know has any ideas, thanks

More likely to be a new pressure cap needed. If it was the head gasket it would pump out all the water pretty quickly, unless the leakage is tiny.

it seems ok now :) :) :)

basicly i just refilled it to the correct line after making sure there were no airlocks in any of the pipes and she runs fine now, just had a go up the motorway and boy does it fly :)

lol, put the biggest grin on my face i think i have ever had :)

i think i will replace the cap anyway though just to be sure, where is the best place to get one???
