I have a fuel leak on the top of my fuel pump at the front of the engine and I had 2 new pipes fitted and now the garage said that the pump has a slight crack in it, I have been told that Mercedes have sold a lot of pumps like this. Does anyone know about this and is there a Recall ? could anyone write back please.

I've replaced pumps when people have ran them on petrol & buggered them up but I've never seen one cracked. They tend to be painted in a thick enamel-type paint (like the brake calipers on some models). Are you sure it's not just the paint cracked?
