I have recently acqired an '87 560 sec. I am already in love. However I am experince and intermitant stuttering at idle and hesitation during acceleration. When idling the stuttering or miss is indicated in the oil pressure meter. Can someone point me in the right direction for a remedy.

SEC stuttering

We'll it's got to be fuel or ignition, so...

Is the missing/stuttering at all consistent? Is it always at idle and never at higher revs? Or is it temperature dependent at all?

You can some way to finding it like this, but I'd recommend you find a good local diagnostician who doesn't mind working on older cars. He'll need the right diagnostic gear to locate the problem

For my money I'd bet there's some kind of idle stabilisation / fuel pressure regulation problem and it's also got a knackered distributor cap, rotor arm and / or HT leads

If the problem defeats all rational analysis then it's almost always the result of more than one problem. You'll have to work systematically through it to find the problem(s). A "spare" car to swop parts with would be very handy!

If you're in Sussex or North London I can recommend someone
