I have a 1989 560SEL. Two problems.
The first is the idling speed. When the engine warms up I notice the idling speed fluctuates between 1000-1500rpm. Sometimes it reverts to normal but the problem seems to be getting worse. The car does not get a huge amount of use, but I dont think that would be the cause. Is there a sensor which needs replacing?
The second problem relates to bodywork. After ignoring small rust bubbles on the front wheelarch above the bumper, it has finally broken through into a rusty hole. What is the best course of action before it gets worse? Can it be successfully treated or is it time for new wing? If so do the wings bolt on or are they welded? I hope to have a full respray soon if I can find somewhere decent in Sussex to do it.
Your help would be appreciated. Is there a decent workshop manual available for the 126's?
Thanks in advance
