lots of 2nd hand parts out there, but finding GOOD 2nd hand parts is hard.

see my resto here: http://r107restoration.blogspot.com/

500SL is the one to go for most reckon. i have a 280SL because (a) it came up for sale cheap and was the right colour/spec i wanted and (b) i'm not bothered about speed.

pattern rear wing repair panels are available, as are sills and front wings.

everything else (panel wise) is merc only i'm afraid.

lots of info on the net - try SLS in germany. door rubber and fabric roofs are also available non-genuine and much of the suspension stuff etc can be bought aftermarket.

Hi thanks for the info, i didnt relize thay rusted up so bad,im still looking ,thairs a 75 450 on e bay now for 2500 and most of the mot,ed projects seem to be around 1700 to 2500,unless the silly buggers selling them are biding it up thairselfs, wich defeats sticking it on e bay in the first place, and makes it auto trader money ie to expensive.

im going to sit and read your full acount on the car when i get a min,i really do like the mid 70,s ones, then you consider what you pay for a project 70,s jag e type, and the price you can pick thease mercs up for.

thanks

Steve in a fizzin hot 39 deg Almeria  :)
