'83 500 SL Wipers

My wipers have started to make a horrible banging noise. I'm sure this is to do with the pleasant weather we have at the moment. I'd like to know how to get access to the wiper drive; is it behind the dash ? or the bulkhead

first 6 digits of your chassis number and I will forward a diagram.

Chassis no.107046, I hope this is enough. Also my throttle linkage has packed up, a bush that holds a spindle on to a bracket bolted to the manifold. Despite 'phoning Mercedes no-one seems to know what I'm talking about. Any info welcomed.
