89 260e to 300e engine swap

i blew the head gasket on my 89 260e and warped the head. i found a 89 300e engine + ecu for far less then it would cost to fix the old engine. is the swap possible? will the tranny fit and work? what about the electronics? any edvice would greatly be appreciated. thanks in advance.
