considering one of these, done a search and people refer to the right spec being important. i.e. colour, transmission, engine size. what is the right spec. is there a big difference between the 230 and 300 performance and mpg wise. what is special about the sportline editions. any advice would be grateful thanks.

Retro fitting air-con is a nightmare and very £££....dash etc will have to come out.

Best to wait for another car if air-con is important to you.

If it was me I would want a 6 cylinder, either a 300 24v or a 320 with air-con, leather, full service history....

The 230's are slow, 136 bhp I believe, the 220's 150bhp, 300's 175 bhp the 320's 220 bhp and I think the pre cat 300 24v's had @ 240bhp.

Sportline's are desirable, but relatively rare....make sure you are getting a genuine one. They have lowered suspension, thicker anti-roll bars, sports seats, and various sportline badges scattered around.

Whatever you find, just make sure it has a full service history and a leak free cylinder head gasket (6 cylinder cars).......all of the 6's should be real smooth in the way they drive.

Great cars and built like tanks........rust should not be a major issue....if it is keep walking
