I have a 96 c200 (petrol)
The symptoms ......... After the engine has run for 2 minutes, with gentle application of the throttle when the revs hit 2000rpm there is a sudden and dramatic total loss of power, the revs fall off and at about 1000rpm power returns completely.... creating a violent jolt, this repeats itself........ If you throttle hard you can clear 2000rpm and if you hold the revs above 2000rpm no problem. The problem does not occur for a minute or so while the engine warms (maybe while the auto choke does its stuff)

Mercedes have diagnosed a faulty throttle valve / throttle slide
part no ma000 141 91 25

They are quoting £709.44 for replacement

Is the mercedes diagnosis correct? is there a fix other then replacement, where is a good place to buy the part?

Many thanks, David Edgell
