Hello,
First post, so be gentle with me
Drove my wife's '97 C280 auto estate back from holiday in Ireland today and noticed a problem that perhaps someone can shed some light on??? When overtaking, the auto box kicks down a couple of times, the revs increase and the car accelerates, but as it passes about 4500rpm, it stops accelerating and just stays at 4500rpm (box is in S mode) and won't rev any higher or change up. There's a faint whiff of burning rubber when this happens.
Car was serviced by a local independent before the trip (so about 1K miles ago).
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim.
