Hello everyone,

I recently performed an oil change on my 1987 420SEL and then noticed that after I start the car and it idles for approximately a minute or so then I will hear a chirp from under the hood.

It does not do this all the time and it is just a single chirp, and occasionally after turning the ignition off it will also do it as the motor comes to a halt.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this to occur?

Thanks again Malcolm, I'll have to wait for it to get nosier or fail to isolate this fault. Happy it's not grinding timing chain noise!
