A/C Compressor for...

my E240/W210 - 1998.

It has been confirmed that the above has a serious leaking seal verified today by 'Herts Merx' using an ultra violet light which shows up the dye introduced into the refrigerant about 4 weeks ago, plus of course oil is all around the front of the engine.

So any advice as to where to obtain a replacement compressor, not MB as I doubt if I could raise another mortgage at my time of life! in any case the cost would far outweigh the value of the vehicle

Refurbished compressors any thoughts? and any recommendations on suppliers would be appreciated. not

We have had some post where people change the O ring that is at fault. There are firms that re con them, and I hope to find some

Sorry to bother you but a tad confused as to the part number on the RU site can you help/advise? WDB210061A619211 is the chassis number.

On the link that I put up,that price was for the 210, 240

All of the other models are more expensive

The original compressor should have its OEM maker & part number on a sticker or plate - you may find cheaper options using that to supplement the search.

E.G. for my W124, the original fitted compressor OEM is Seiko.
