my E240/W210 - 1998.

It has been confirmed that the above has a serious leaking seal verified today by 'Herts Merx' using an ultra violet light which shows up the dye introduced into the refrigerant about 4 weeks ago, plus of course oil is all around the front of the engine.

So any advice as to where to obtain a replacement compressor, not MB as I doubt if I could raise another mortgage at my time of life! in any case the cost would far outweigh the value of the vehicle:shock:

Refurbished compressors any thoughts? and any recommendations on suppliers would be appreciated. not:cool:

Thanks for the info. The only supplier I could find quoted me £398.00 PLUS VAT!

The original compressor should have its OEM maker & part number on a sticker or plate - you may find cheaper options using that to supplement the search.

E.G. for my W124, the original fitted compressor OEM is Seiko.
