Fairly new to the Mercedes range having owned a Smart 4/2 before, I've now bought a 5 year old A class.
One thing puzzles me - what oil should I use in the engine ? Some people say fully synthetic and my friend runs his T reg on Castrol GTX 10/30 oil and has done for about 4 years with no problems.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Read your owners manual. Take all other advice with 'a pinch of salt' as many people will give you a personal opinion rather than the facts. Much more important than the mineral/synthetic debate is the importance of using an oil to the right specification. It might be that only synthetic oils have the specification you are looking for but in most cases a traditional mineral oil will do the job perfectly if it is approved to do so.

yea check the book and the service interval.. 5 or 6 thousand mile service intervals and the castrol will be fine longer service intervals use a semi or fully synthetic ..
