I'm having problems with my A140 classic car, I brought it about 2 months ago now and had to take it back to the dealer as the timing chain went. (I'm no means technically minded) It transcribed that I had to have a new engine (only a reconditioned replacement). I'm now finding that the same problem is happening again even though the engine has been replaced. When I start the car and try to move off, there's no speed. It doesn't matter how hard I put my foot down, there is no real power coming from the car. I've had to stop the car and start it again on numerous occasions in order for it to drive with speed. Once I've done that, it drives as normal. Could anyone tell me what this problem is!! I really do like the car but I'm starting to wonder if it was a bad buy.:???:

Who fitted the engine for you and how long ago, the car needs to be hooked up to a star diagnostic machine and the faults read, also what year is the car.. some of the newer models 04 on.. I think.. if you allow these cars to run empty of fuel ..or put the wrong fuel in they shut down the injectors ...

It's a 51 plate and the car has just had a reconditioned engine fitted, I believe the car has been hooked up to a diagnostic machine as they left the sheet in the car when they they returned it to me. Saying that, the cars been alright for a couple of days. Do you think it could have something to do with the gears as I accidently started the car in gear? It jolted forward and then proceeded to run really slowly.:(.
