Hi guys, this is my first post.

I have an A150 which when it is idling sounds normal, when I blip the throttle engine revs as normal then goes back to idle. All seems ok.

But when I rev it to 1500rpm it just goes back to 1000rpm, then I squeeze the throttle a bit more revs go up then settles back again, it's like its very lumpy.

Any ideas, I have taken it to garages to try and plug into a computer, but no one can access the codes, something about W169 chassis is too new, but this shape A Class has been out since 2004.

Cheers Guys for the help.

If you know any good Mercedes people local to Tamworth, would be nice. As the dealers want £120 per hour to just to look at it.

Last time i see that fault it was water in the coil pack/lead joint, bit of a pig to get to but check them first!!

Thanks for the quick reply,

It has been in Mercedes all day today, they said it was the throttle something, apparently the computer software just fkeeps forgetting where the throttle is.
picked up was smooth to start with but problem has already returned.

I tried to rev it to a steady 2000rpm, when it settles at that, I then blip the gas pedal up and down 1/2 an inch but the revs stay at 2000rpm constant.
It feels as though the engine isn't react to the pedal.

I will call Mercedes tomorrow and rebook it in i'll also tell them about the advice given from S-A-M / U-N-I-T to see if this is the problem.

thanks S-A-M / U-N-I-T for the quick reply.

Hi

I have exactly the same problem with my car (A150 SE, 57 plate, 5k miles).

I drove 3 a150's when choosing this car and they all behaved in this way, it didn't bother me to much at the time but it's now annoying. The engine also stalls occasionally when rolling up to the lights in neutral. The dealer failed to find any recorded engine faults.

Did your dealer resolve the problem ?

Sorry for really late reply
my car is sorted now, but I did speak to the Merc Technician and your experiencing a fault he mentioned, apparently it is a known problem and is sorted by updated software which should be done under warranty, my brothers car would also stall on approach to traffis lights this was also sorted by merc dealer, by updated software
