A250 Premium Plus
Hi all,

I received a quote for an A250 Premium plus on the weekend, in the Obsidian black for £386 a month with an 8k deposit (Part ex) which seems a little high (48 months, 8,000 miles a year).

I also received a quote for one around 2 years ago (Pre-Covid) which was £304 a month and a £6500 deposit.

I appreciate everything that's gone on and the current supply chain issues affecting prices, but was just wondering if this is the new norm?

I'm not in a major rush for the car so I can wait, hopefully the prices might even come down in a year or so..

Looking forward to your opinions,

Cheers.

Welcome :)

I guess availability has pushed up prices for both new and used cars, but I'm sure there are still some bargains to be had.

My concern would be how much of the specification of a Premium Plus model will actually arrive with the car.

Is this an MB Agility finance deal? It all boils down to the price for the car ie how much is being financed. You should have a breakdown of the deal which will tell you how much is being financed, what the interest rate is and how much interest you are paying, all divided by, in your case , 48 to give a monthly payment. All you can do to change the monthly payment is to haggle price or annual mileage down, everything else is set in stone. (I think 8,000 is the minimum annual mileage?)
I suspect you are not getting as much discount (sorry, manufacturer and/or dealer support) as you would have done before the pandemic and that inevitably affects how much you are financing. I took out a new agreement in March 2021 and got huge 'dealer support' on a car they wanted to get rid of. Interest rate was 5.9%APR. I suspect the terms are not as good now.

All Leases / PCP etc. have gone up, it is the lack of new cars available

supply and demand, dealers have lost during the last years, the need to make it back and at who's expense

Finance companies are also hicking the rate up at the moment in prediction of the base rate climbing more over the next 3 years, likely as much as 1%, this will make a huge difference to what you’re paying now compared to just 6months ago

Yep - the latest con. Inflate the list price and then offer a “dealer contribution” / discount.

Yes, CarWow are pricing the car at 37k and there are no discounts being applied :/
Not easy to compare .....

£ 386 x 48 = £18,258 + 8000 = £26,256 + balloon ????= vs £37K

I cannot see new or used prices coming down soon.

Everything is going up faster than a fireman’s extension ladder apart from interest on everyone’s saving which the banks are using to make even bigger profit.

You ain't wrong there my cash moved offshore until things change f all on sa ings +14%on cc card . Another pet hate after daft car electronics dtf. BANKS. I especially like their term "written off". Meaning given up getting from debtor and collecting it from rest of us. More charges and hanging on to rate drops
