Adblue problem

Resets tend to work until something actually breaks or stops working. With a good enough code reader (usually Mercedes specific) an owner can reset stored codes.
You normally get a yellow EML and a 500 mile count down. After that it won’t start

Trying to find comfort in the purchase but also enjoy being a realist and knowing what the situation may be % wise.

When the engine light was on yesterday the ad blue was also on as check ad blue but no countdown.

Well won’t be taking it to Mercedes to get the part changed! I’ve been told there Mercedes specialist in Reading. So would be taking my car to them and let them have a look. But seriously so disappointed with Mercedes. I’d probably write a complaint letter to Mercedes head office.

Just wanted to say thank you to this original poster and this forum you guys have really helped me save some money.

Mercedes dealers were terrible telling me the pump has gone the injectior is leaking and that there is too much ad blue in the car.

Took it on for recall on now sensors and all the errors went and eml went.

They said the eml would come back on and if you want us to strip it all down it will cost you £439 and then we can see what the problem is.

I asked them to give me back my car after the ecu update I then took it too a local mechanic showed him this post he put it on the ramp and found the urea injection blocked as per this thread cleaned it all out did a diagnostic and all clear.

All in all costs £30.

Unbelievable it's been months that this ad blue and eml lights and trips to Mercedes' and it's been really stressful but now thanks to you guys it's fixed.

Hi I new to this, I’m not sure how this works, I’m looking for an independent Mer garage in the Nantwich area, my car is a C class 220cdi 4 matic amg line 2017, 36000 miles from new, the management light came on last year I had the nox sensor replace in November 2022 by Mer done just over 1000 miles the amber lights on and the countdown started, can measure add blue, I booked it in with Mer to get a diagnostic report, this to me is a design fault

As all that’s been done is a system reset then I’d say it is highly likely that the engine warning light will come back on.

It's just a lottery. Created by benz ur just cruisin along waiting for inevitable eml and hopin ur not 501 miles from home
In short don't plan a European tour in a 20k miles plus adblu car. Without AA EU recovery.
This is 2023 is this really more reliable than 1920??

It is a design fault. And or dtf. That's it. Basically don't buy any car, benz that has egr, adblue and if poss no DPF.

There are 2 x Nox sensors. If you only had 1 replaced there's a good chance that the other one now needs replacing

One good new sensor prob instructs the ecm to throw out the other old one. I wonder which version is in my car

Update, I emailed Mercedes head office regarding the problem, Mercedes of Guildford called and they said Mercedes are happy to cover up to 72percent of the price. So il have to pay £600+ instead of £1900.
