Hi there, hoping to join the MB owners soon and have been looking at various R107,s .I have just looked at a 1988 300sl with 23k in white that is genuine and that is really ringing my bell . It belongs to an old friend of my fathers who has owned it for ten years who is having poor health and now is willing to sell it . It has been stored in an open fronted barn and and will need a major valet , but i,m sure it will scrub up well . I,m struggling to put a realistic value on it by what else i have seen but have an idea that 10 k would be a fair price or is that undervalueing it ? I realize that if a classic garage got hold of it they would probably ask double for it but i would really appreciate any comments and advice over what i should bid the owner without insulting him and risk losing a great car .
