I've just taken the plunge and ordered some "Go Faster" bits for my 2005 W220 S350 from an Ebay trader (cksperformance_uk)
The parts, namely: Quad Chrome Tailpipe Trims, CL Type Grille, and a Flat Bonnet Star are shown on the links below
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....264049008&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123://

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISA...200311132438&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123

If anyone has experience of these particular parts (what is the fit and finish like?, is any cutting of the rear valance required?) or has had dealings with the Ebay seller, your comments would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The quality of these things is good these days. I wold ask them about the rear bumper cutting.

This firm say that you do not have to

Thanks for this Malcolm,
I hope the parts I have ordered are to the same quality as these, but the £250 price differencial leads me to think otherwise.

The Photographs of the fitted tailpipes look similar so I am hoping I do not have to cut away the valance.

Thats hard to say Shaetz stuff is expensive,, another was SVS same thing but cheaper.

That is a huge firm where you have bought them from and big in the tuning sector

The company seems ok according to the last 12 months feedback, 2500 comments and only 8 of these negative, the negatives were all due poor handling in transit or misplaced orders, none related to poor quality or fit so I am hoping all will be well.

I've had stufff from cks and it was good quality and the service swift. I bought direct rather than through ebay.

Those exhaust ends can look crap from side-on as they don't require cutting of the bumper they will hang low and look odd IMHO

Thanks for this, you may well be right but they are easily removed; I'll post some photos when they are fitted and you can see what they look like.

I could do with some extensions on my exhaust as they end flush with the rear valance, this make the car very sooty, maybe just bringing them out a touch would stop this, unless it turbulence

Nah! You are driving too slowly Malc. Soot is linked with unburnt fuel. Put your foot down and clear the system :D

Wish that I knew what would solve it, after the burn up with Andy coming home from the last meet it was black.

The easiest way of cleaning it is to park in a busy road leaving a small gap behind, and the people clean it walking past it

You were right, they look great until you look at the car side on from about 50 feet, this is where they hang below the valance and seem to come to an abrupt end, I think I can sort this out though as I can lay my hands on some 70mm diameter stainless steel bends which can be welded into the trims and disappear into nothing above the level of the valance.
it's disappointing that with a little more thought this would have cost no more than £10 per side to design and manufacture into the original trims as I would willingly have paid the extra cost.

Hi everyone.

After lots of web surfing nobody could let me know if tailpipe from Schatz would fit a W211 E220 CDI.
I ordered it from a norwegian website, even this guys from Oslo have told me it wouldn't fit because is not for E220CDI. :-D
But SCHATZ is advertising this specific tailpipe "type 211SC-3" that would fit my car. Because it also has a picture there with car and with the left side exhaust and the chrome tip fitted.
