I remember my wife (very uncharacteristically) playing chicken with with a 18 wheeler on the I 15 just outside Las Vegas. She was not going to move out of her lane to let the rig onto the motorway until I yelled at her. Her: “I had the right of way”. Me: “Maybe, but he would have squashed us."
Two things my father taught me when I was learning to drive many years ago:
1. All a cars head light flash means, is their electrics work; and
2. Heaven is probably full of people saying “I don’t know why I am here, it was my right of way”

IMO looks awful (pseudo panel van) . But tastes differ. Changing times.

To be a panel van the 3/4 privacy would also have to be silver !

That's why I'm tickled by comments of white cars with privacy glass being referred to as a panel van as those 3/4 would have to be of a white tint ,
totally fascinating....

Black I totally understand .

Current car before the rears were tinted

Afterwards. Privacy for rear passengers and no glare from the sun.

Previous E55 with highly illegal front window tints. I really should have removed them but never got around to it. Never stopped and passed every MOT inspection.

I agree with comments above about the tints helping in the heat to keep passengers cool.

The previous owner of my CLS had the rear door windows and screen tinted as a gesture for me. It’s was a factory style tint and not that totally dark black. It was done by some mobile guy and some 4 years on its still perfect.

I personally don’t like the 50/50 look, I like unity and everything to be same e.g windows to all be the same shade and that’s why I’ve left the S class as is. I don’t like the tints in the dark either as a driver or passenger.

I think you can get clear films that give you the benefits of the tints such as keeping passengers cool without the draw backs of darker tints. It not something that most seem to keep in stock and most tinkers I called just want to sell you the stuff they use day in day out.

Hmm, 4D plates, what makes them 4D?
Time…

In reality the 3D plates are shaded to look 3D, the 4D plates have the letters and numbers cut from thick plastic and glued to the backing so stand off into the 4th dimension…

Interesting subject dating as far back as 1754, long before we had cars or number plates.
Still, number plates are not 4D!

OK then, if you prefer this, black tinted windows make any car look like a HEARSE. Is that better then a van?
