W208 320clk, new AMS fitted in july and car has done just under 2000 miles since, it now seems that engine miss fire has returned and tickover very lumpy! Seems to start OK when cold but problem occurs after motorway speed. Changed spark plugs yesterday (41000 miles) hoping it may cure it but no luck. Is it possible AMS could malfunction in such a short time? (miles and months) I refitted original AMS after cleanig sensor wire but tickover was worse so have refitted newer one.

did you replace the meter with a gen Bosch air meter?, Could be possible that new meter has failed, if you unplug the meter with the engine running it will stall if the meter is faulty.
Find a Bosch service center local to you and buy one from there, £139 inc vat I think.
I read somewhere failing cat sensors can knock out an air meter, or is it the otehr way round!!
