Hi everbody.
Just joined the site as I have just bought a one owner 2004 SLK 200K petrol/auto with 36,000 on the clock and I have a few questions if you would be so kind as to help.
Firstly what is the situation regarding cambelt changing. Does the car have a cambelt?
Second is there anyway to trace the cars history through the main dealers etc. The reason I ask is that the service book shows the first service at 14,500 miles when the car was 3 years old ie 2007, then second service 24,000 in 2008 and third at 33,000 in 2009 (Sept) then 35,000 in March 2010. These mileages seem erratic in that only 14,500 was done in three years then 10,000 per year for 2 years then 2000 miles in 6 months all with the same owner. No actual bills just 3 stamps in the service book.
And lastly does any one know the approximate cost of buying a new key as I was only given one key. Big chunky thing with a flip out 'blade' which incorporates the remote locking.
Any other advice would be welcome.
